Comprehensive Eye Exams

How’s your vision? Are you sure? Many people wait too long between eye exams. During that time, vision problems can develop or get worse, sometimes without you even noticing. Regular comprehensive eye exams are an important part of preventative care for your eye health, and are much more inclusive than simple vision screenings.

At North Florida Cataract Specialists and Vision Care, we provide comprehensive eye exams for patients of all ages. These exams often include, but are not limited to:

Visual Acuity – measures how clearly you see things, i.e. whether your vision is 20/20, 20/100, etc.

Refraction Test – evaluates nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism, among other conditions

Pupillary Reactions – tests how your pupils behave to changes in incoming light

Extraocular Movements – assesses the muscles that control the motion of your eyes

Confrontation Visual Fields – measures the breadth of your field of vision, also known as peripheral vision

Cover Test – evaluates how well your eyes work together

Along with visual inspection and additional evaluation by an eye doctor, these tests provide a credible assessment of your overall eye health.
