HydroEye is an oral dietary supplement designed to relieve dry eye discomfort and support a healthy tear film. Dry eye occurs when our eyes do not produce enough tears or the tears produced are of poor quality. Symptoms include grittiness, burning, redness, excess tearing, light sensitivity, and "mattering". The AREDS trial showed that high-risk macular degeneration patients that took certain supplemental nutrients had a significantly better chance of preserving their vision and slowing the progression of ARMD.
